Crafty Neighbor Names Three New Instructors for 2015 Scrapbooking Cruise

Carrollton, Texas – Carrollton-based Crafty Neighbor has announced the addition of three new instructors for the company’s annual scrapbooking cruise.  New hires include Copic Certified Instructor, Deborah Worthington, Brazilian native and co-owner of Personal Scrapbook in Allen, Patricia Azevedo, and Karrie Allen, the owner of Scrapp’N Savvy in Spring, Texas.

Karrie AllenKarrie Allen became involved in scrapbooking in 2000 through her brother Doug Jones, the founder of Bazzill Basic Papers.  Karrie loves to create interactive pages that spin, flip, twirl, and pop, and she tends to use her interactive elements to hide her journaling and to add more pictures to a layout without losing an artistic flair.  Next to creating, teaching is her favorite part of crafting. She has taught classes for Mari Dawn’s Scrapbooking in Katy, Texas, Lonestar Scrapbooking in Woodlands, Texas, and in her home before opening her own store Scrapp’n Savvy, (the happiest place in Houston according to her customers) in Spring, Texas.

Patty Azevedo

Patricia “Patty” Azevedo is originally from Brazil and came to the U.S. for 14 years ago when her husband was transferred for work.  Patty tells us that the scrapbook "mania" is just starting in Brazil, but she always loved paper crafting. She used to make her own Christmas cards and gift-wrapping, and started scrapbooking in 2005, when she saw a Creative Memories demo. Patty has a lot of fun teaching and her main motto is: "I don't read instructions." She describes her style as "eclectic and colorful." Her other passions include a large collection of Barbie dolls, reading romances and photography. She has been one of the owners of Personal Scrapbook in Allen, TX, since 2011, and is very excited to join us on this cruise.

Debby Worthington started scrapbooking in 1998 and stamping in 2007. She designed and taught card-making and scrapbook classes as a Stampin’ Up demonstrator for six years and designed pages and taught scrapbooking classes for 4 years as a Creative Memories consultant.  Debby holds both Copic certifications (standard and immediate). She has attended Copic’s recent Whimsical Faces and Hair workshop as well as classes in Spectrum Noir, Tim Holtz distressed markers, and watercolor markers.  Debby teaches Alcohol Ink Marker classes and Memoir/Journaling writing classes in the Seniors Active In Learning program at Collin College.

This cruise will mark the seventh scrapbooking cruise organized by Crafty Neighbor, and the second on the Royal Caribbean cruise line.  With an all-new lineup of instructors, Crafty Neighbor’s owner, Cindy Murray, promises it will be the best scrapbooking cruise to date.  Sailing October 4 on the Navigator of the Seas out of Galveston, Texas, the cruise will visit the islands of Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel.  While aboard, participants will engage in card-making, scrapbooking, and crafting workshops, as well as enjoy an open crop room to work on their own projects. Of her new instructors, Murray comments, “Each of them have very special and distinct skills which bring a great mix to our cruise this year.  Karrie creates the most amazing interactive scrapbook pages I have ever seen, Deborah loves to share her Copic marker training, and Patty brings fun to everything she touches.  I can’t wait to share these fabulous ladies with our cruisers!”

Registration for the cruise is now open.  For more information, about the cruise or Crafty Neighbor, please visit
