More Group Cruises in the Works for Carrollton Travel Agent

Carrollton, Texas - September 9, 2022 - For the first time in over three years, Crafty Neighbor Travel of Carrollton, Texas, has teamed up with a local business owner to coordinate a group cruise offering. Partnering with Arthur Graye of The GreenMan Studios in Southlake, Cindy Murray of Crafty Neighbor Travel has assisted in the creation of a Holistic Cruise workshop onboard the Carnival Breeze, sailing out of Galveston, Texas on October 23, 2023.

The cruise, which is the first such partnership between the two companies, will feature a series of workshops presented by Graye and other instructors in the arts of cartomancy, pendulums, runes, crystals, fundamentals of energy management, journaling for magickal purposes, and more. An optional course in Reiki 1 will also be offered for an additional fee. Other group activities will include a daily morning yoga stretch and an excursion to the famed ruins of Chichén Itzá, one of the most important archeological sites in North America known as the site of Temple of Kukulcán (El Castillo) and the sacred Cenote Sagrado, where pre-Columbian Mayans sacrificed objects and human beings to the rain god Chaac.

The cruise is the first of what Murray hopes to be many in the coming years as COVID restrictions begin to lighten on cruise lines. Many of the major cruise lines have dropped vaccination requirements for travelers and no longer require pre-cruise testing for vaccinated guests on most itineraries. Unvaccinated guests must still show proof of a negative PCR or antigen test, and there may be additional requirements to disembark in some ports. These changes are great news for cruise passengers, as it simplifies the the guidelines for most passengers and is an indication that the cruise industry has been able to manage travel in the COVID era with efficiency.

Murray is currently working with several non-profit organizations to offer fundraising cruises similar to sailings organized through Crafty Neighbor Travels prior to the pandemic, such as a series of 5 cruises for the Denton County Aggie Moms Club from 2015 through 2019. The cruises provided much needed funds for student scholarships at Texas A & M University and have been a popular event for Aggie parents and alumni from around the state. The agency also hopes to resume its annual scrapbooking and craft cruises, which have been a mainstay of Crafty Neighbor Travel’s group cruise business and have attracted participants from locations across the country, including New England and Washington state.

“People are ready to travel again,” says Murray, “and cruising is a great way to combine international travel with special interests in a very safe and cost-effective way.”
