The Episcopal School of Dallas Girls Volleyball Coach Laura Gomez reached the 400-win milestone for her career when the Eagles defeated Frassati Catholic on Saturday, September 4, in the Prince of Peace North Texas Invitational.

Coach Gomez is in her 21st season leading the volleyball program at ESD. In 2007 she guided ESD to the SPC Championship, along with runner-up finishes in 2006, 2009, 2016, and 2019. Coach Gomez also holds the school record for most wins in a single varsity sport. Gomez joins Varsity Boys Soccer Program Director Mark Gardner and Varsity Boys Basketball Program Director Corey Henderson as coaches with at least 300 varsity wins at ESD. She was also inducted into ESD's Keri Scholtz Hall '87 Convocation earlier this year for 20 years of outstanding service to the school.

"While we are most proud of this tremendous accomplishment by Coach Gomez, we are equally grateful for the countless lives she has positively influenced over the 21 years leading our volleyball program," said ESD's Director of Athletics, Dan Gill. "She has led our program to unprecedented heights during her time at ESD and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this coaching milestone with her."
