How can a school district which serves over 26,000 students across two counties, six communities on nearly 40 sites create a positive sense of "community?" Challenges like this are common to Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD.

This year, the C-FB ISD Educational Foundation and the C-FB ISD Council PTA are joining forces in the “I Love C-FB ISD” campaign. With a $50 donation to the C-FB ISD Educational Foundation, supporters will receive an attractive yard sign or window decal. The campaign is occurring now!

The Educational Foundation and PTAs are accepting donations online or at designated events. Donors’ signs will be delivered during October when the campaign goes "open." The campaign will conclude in November with “Show Your C-FB ISD Pride.”

Jeff Moore, the Executive Director of the C-FB ISD Educational Foundation shared, “I am thrilled to bring this campaign to our district. The Educational Foundation awarded over $150,000 in student and faculty scholarships and grants during the last school year. Funds generated during this campaign will help the Foundation do even more.”

Diane Dobis, President of C-FB ISD Council PTA added: “The very exciting aspect of this campaign is Council PTA’s collaboration. Council PTA will receive half of the net proceeds of this campaign. And when donors designate a specific C-FB ISD school on their donor form Council will direct the donation to that local PTA! I’m excited to see the signs start ‘popping up’ around the district in October!”

The campaign was launched at the Council PTA’s first meeting on September 11 when Superintendent Dr. Bobby Burns unveiled the campaign and made the first donation. Channeling John Mayer’s “Love is a Verb,” Burns shared that broad support for the district exists as evidenced by the district’s over 9,000 volunteers donating over $1 million worth of service hours for the benefit of the students. “And we know that number is low because many of our donors don’t report their time. But we love them all. Volunteers come from the parents with students in school to our retired teachers who continue to come back to campuses for the students to community organizations providing mentors, tutors, vision testing, school supplies, clothing and so much more. Our community supporters put their love into action. They are one reason why our district is now ranked 7th of the top 200 school districts in Texas.”

This campaign is open to anyone who wants to show their support for the district: students, alumni, businesses. Jeff Moore added, “The campaign’s website is: www.Ilovecfb.org. The donor form is there and signs and decals are being delivered to our supporters beginning in October.”

The Educational Foundation’s Facebook page will also feature photos of donors showing their pride in C-FB ISD as the campaign takes shape October through November.” Watch for more news at http://cfbgiving.com/ and our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/EducationalFoundation.
