The Dallas Can Academy Carrollton/Farmers Branch students are fortunate to have community supporters like the Carrollton Women's Club (CWC).  They have been assisting the school with monthly donations for many years.  It is called their pot of gold and collections are taken at monthly meetings for many organizations including the Dallas Can Academy (DCA).  In addition, DCA is a recipient of one or more of the annual scholarships that CWC awards to senior female students residing in Carrollton. The annual scholarship funds are raised at the CWC’s Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon held every spring.

The mission of CWC is to promote club fellowship and enhance the community through service, involvement and action.  “The Carrollton Women’s Club are great community partners,” said Tony Swafford, principal of Dallas Can Academy. “Their donations have enabled the school to meet the needs of several students over the years whether it is buying school supplies, teacher resources or supporting our students with a scholarship to college.”

The CWC also assists the school’s Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) by donating fleece blankets made at their Blanketfests throughout the year.  These blankets are used at the center in the infant nursery and help keep the babies warm and comforted.  The women of CWC have made an impact at Dallas Can Academy Carrollton/Farmer Branch campus that will be felt by students and children for many years to come.
