One of the worst movies of all time is returning to the Texas Theatre so Dallas’ only live, movie-mocking comedy show can riff on it!

The Mocky Horror Picture Show will perform its live roast of the infamous 1988 sci-fi adventure “Mac and Me” at 9:15 pm on Thursday, Aug. 31 at the Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff.

“Mac and Me” tells the story of an alien accidentally stranded on Earth who befriends a young boy and tries to get the extraterrestrial back to his family again. If that sounds familiar, it’s because it’s a direct rip-off of Steven Spielberg’s “E.T.” if Spielberg was also making a feature length commercial for McDonald’s.

Even if you’ve never seen it, chances are you’ve at least seen the infamous cliff falling scene that Paul Rudd has used to punk Conan O’Brien for more than 20 years. Yes, THAT movie.

The Mocky Horror Picture Show features three comedians (Liz Barksdale, Danny Gallagher and Albie Robles) crack jokes at the movie on microphones in front of a live audience. They also throw prompts on the screen with a countdown so the audience can yell jokes and throw props at the screen as well.

Everyone who attends will get a special “Mocky Meal” bag of props to use during the movie along with a few other bits of Mocky Horror swag. Tickets are $14 per person and movie and comedy fans of all ages can attend so bring the whole family.
